We head to Sweden for a 15 night overland trip to southern Lapland, the route north took us from Hull to Zeebrugge, then a full days driving to Lubeck where we caught a Finnline ferry to Malmo and then journeyed up through southern Sweden to the forests of central Sweden.
There's not much off-road in this series, the routes we took were mainly sealed roads but we searched out forest tracks when and where we could. Nevertheless, it was a great journey which focused upon wild camping in the wilderness and just generally enjoying the outdoors.
We hit a few cold weather fronts but that was half of the fun! This was our second time in Scandinavia and each time it has delivered a great overland trip. Sweden is definitely worth a visit.
I use the Helko Werk Black Forest Hatchet in this video - you can buy one from the Europe Overland Ebay shenanigans here -https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Helko-Werk-Black-Forest-Hatchet-Bushcraft-camp-Axe-German-Made-Sheath-Incl/232970530817?hash=item363e203001:g:ZfEAAOSwm41bO95h:rk:1:pf:0
You'll be buying direct from myself and the small amount of profits we make go into my beer money fund for travelling, and the general upkeep of the channel, but mainly my beer money fund.
Hope you enjoy the series!
