Hey ya'll, so during Summer 2018 I went to Istanbul, Turkey and it was AMAZING! It was warm (but not too warm) and everyone was very nice and helpful. All the content you see is filmed by me :) I hope you liked it! If you did please like and subscribe:) Here are some facts about this amazing city:
Istanbul is NOT the capital of Turkey (it is Ankara), but it is the most populated city in Turkey, 15.03 MILLION people live there. Let me tell you something, traffic is BAD
Many people use trains and the subway due to overpacked streets- did you know that Istanbul is the third oldest subway in the world- CRAZY
Galata Tower was built in 1348 in order to overlook the city from intruders. It was also used to house prisoners of war in Ottoman Times, then turned into a laboratory and now a museum.
Let me tell you, the Grand Bazaar is the COOLEST place to visit in Istanbul. The Kapali Carsi is an underground market place that sells everything you can ever imagine (Fake Designers, Spices, Tapestry, you name it).
Hagia Sofia was built in 537 AD (1482 years old) used to be a Greek Orthodox Christian cathedral and is now a museum for tourists. The Mosque is pretty much in it's original shape (with a few remodeling) and survived this many years because the Turkish government did NOT use it as a sanctuary during Wars.
Oh... and one more thing: If you fly to Istanbul- really, really try to fly with Turkish Airline- best airplane food ever! And that says a lot! It's also kind of cool that that they have entertainment even on their short haul flights.
